Two died after a fire broke out in five storey building in Mumbai

A fire broke out in a five-storey residential building in South Mumbai’s Bori Mohalla near Bhendi Bazaar on Thursday. At least two people were killed in the incident. Seven fire engines and six water tankers were soon at the spot.

11 people were saved by the fire brigade who were confined in the building. Two firemen were injured while the rescue operations.

The fire broke out at 10:40 p.m. on the fourth floor of Punjab Mahal in Bori Mohalla on Thursday. The fire brigade hurried to the spot by 10.50 pm and started fire fighting actions.

The firefighters found two women in an unconscious state on the fourth floor. They were rushed to JJ hospital and were declared dead during admission.

After continues fire fighting operations was doused after five hours.

“The search for any more missing or trapped persons is underway,” chief fire officer P Rahangdale said.
