To risk disqualification if they don’t appear before the Speaker, Speaker Ramesh Kumar sends out the notice

On Tuesday the Supreme Court dismissed the discussion on two sovereign Karnataka MLAs R Shankar and H Nagesh until Wednesday. The two MLAs had requested the top court to pass an order directing Chief Minister Kumaraswamy to attempt a floor test in the VidhanSoudha immediately.

The Supreme Court dismissed the council following note of the submissions of Karnataka Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar that the polling on the trust action led by Chief Minister is expected to be resolved by Tuesday evening.

A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi recognised the submission of senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, looking for the Speaker. The Karnataka assembly on Monday was over suspended without conferring on the trust motion led by Kumaraswamy last Thursday.

Speaker Ramesh Kumar dismissed the actions till Tuesday following ruckus by Congress and JD(S) MLAs who emphasised choosing can expect the Supreme Court judgment. Speaker said that the proposal should conclude by 4 pm on Tuesday and by 6 pm, the polling process will be closed.
