The Lion King of Disney has forded the Rs 150 crore target at the Indian box office. In the fourth weekend the movie reached above Rs 6 crore bringing its gain total to Rs 150.09 crore. Its total earnings in India is Rs 178 crore.
On Monday the Trade examiner Taran Adarsh accorded the figures on Twitter. He on Twitter wrote that the film earned over Rs 150 crore on its 24th day of release. It is the second-highest Hollywood movie to collect the box office in India in 2019 after Avengers: Endgame, which has earned Rs 400 crore and above.
The Lion King globally has earned over $1.3 billion, creating it the highest-grossing animated film and as the highest-grossing movie in Disney’s remakes.
The Lion King has been listed as an animated film as of its state-of-the-art photorealistic technology. It has reached the $1.2 billion to deserve the title. Jon Favreau, Director’s previous movie, the live-action/animation combination, The Jungle Book, closed its worldwide run by just under $1 billion. It made around Rs 200 crore in India.
Disney used a related release plan for The Lion King by making actor Shah Rukh Khan voiced Mufasa in the Hindi version and his son Aryan, who voiced as Simba. The English version stars the voices of Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor and many.
