The surface-to-surface ballistic missile Shaheen-II was successfully test-fired by Pakistan which is capable of operating targets as far as 1,500 kilometres apart.
The launch was directed at ensuring operational willingness of the Army Strategic Forces Command, the Pakistan Army said in a statement.
“Shaheen-II Missile is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads up to a range of 1,500 km. Shaheen-II is a highly capable missile which fully meets Pakistan’s strategic needs towards the maintenance of desired deterrence stability in the region,” the Army said.
It added that the launch has its impact in the Arabian Sea, observed by Director General Strategic Plans Division, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, senior officers from the ArmyStrategic Forces Command, scientists and engineers of the strategic organisations.
