Kashmir and Ladakh are arranged to be named Union Territories. Ladakh will not hold any Assembly of its individual.

The Home Minister Shah said that the Ladakh Division has a wide range but is sparsely populated with the very difficult ground. There has remained a long-pending, interest of people of Ladakh to give it the situation of a Union Territory to allow them to achieve their ambitions. The Union Territory of Ladakh will be without Legislature. A separate Union Territory for Jammu and Kashmir is set. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be with the council.

Responding to the progress, former J&K chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti stated that the resolution would have “catastrophic results for the subcontinent”.

She on her Twitter wrote, “Today marks the darkest day in Indian democracy. The decision of J&K leadership to reject 2 nation theory in 1947 & align with India has backfired. Unilateral decision of GOI to scrap Article 370 is illegal & unconstitutional which will make India an occupational force in J&K.”

“It will have catastrophic consequences for the subcontinent. GOIs intentions are clear. They want the territory of J&K by terrorising its people. India has failed Kashmir in keeping its promises,” she added.
