Congress senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia will be meeting party president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi. This has come at a time when there are indications in political circles that Scindia is eyeing the post of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president.
Some of his supporters have come to the streets, demanding their leader to be appointed the MPCC chief and have threatened to quit the party.
One of them, Anand Agrawal, has even tried to immolate himself near Gwalior station and has demanded the former Guna MP to be given charge of the Congress in the state.
Scindia will be meeting Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi, three days after the CM had called on her in the national capital in connection with the infighting in the state unit, as said by a senior Congress leader to PTI.
He added that Gandhi has referred the matter of Forest minister Umang Singhar to the central disciplinary committee.
The panel which is headed by senior leader and former Union minister AK Antony is likely to submit his report to Gandhi by next week.
With 114 MLAs in the 230-member assembly, the Congress is falling short of two for a simple majority. It is now holding on to power with the support of 1 SP, 2 BSP and 4 Independent MLAs.Share this to your,
