SC denied entertaining of a case the appointment of two retired officials

The Supreme Court denied entertaining a case challenging the appointment of two retired officials as a special observer and central police observer in West Bengal for Lok Sabha polls, on May 21.

A bench heading Justices Arun Mishra and M.R. Shah said it was not preferred to entertain the appeal as polling is now over.

The bench, gave liberty to petitioner Ramu Mandi, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Barrackpore constituency of West Bengal, to address the Calcutta High Court.
