The Supreme Court announced its order giving protection from arrest to former Kolkata police commissioner Rajiv Kumar in the Saradha chit fund scam case on Friday.
The SC declared the decision on the CBI petition asking vacation of the February 5 order which had given protection from arrest to Rajiv Kumar in the Saradha chit fund scam.
Kumar has been given seven days from Friday to address the high court for judicial assistance.
Rajeev Kumar can be arrested after seven days if required, said the CBI.
The CBI told the court that it needed a custodial investigation of Rajeev Kumar, who was first heading West Bengal Police SIT probing chit fund scam. There was a proof of him, supposedly attempting to destroy with evidence.
Rajeev Kumar’s lawyer told the bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, wanted his custodial investigation “just to humiliate” him.Share this to your,
