Reliance Jio’s 4G, ‘Jio Phone’ overlooked the global and domestic feature phone business during the 2018 calendar year (CY), estimates for 15 per cent of the market globally. According to the Counterpoint Research in 2018 calendar year’s (CY) newest figures that Jio was the market leader at 38 per cent share, next comes Samsung at13 per cent, iTel with eight per cent, Nokia HMD and Lava at seven per cent respectively. Worldwide, Jio Phone estimated for 15 per cent of the market. Counterpoint said, that India logged the maximum feature phone shipments in 2018, which grew 11 per cent YoY to 187 million units.
Jio heads the Indian market, an annual growth of 13 per cent in 2018. In 2018’s calendar year (CY) the global feature phone market grew 7 per cent YoY to 480 million units with the Asia Pacific and the Middle East & Africa (MEA). While in the October-December 2018 quarter to India contributed ‘Jio Phone’ acquisitions with 38 per cent in the market and later by the Middle East and Africa (MEA) at 31per cent.
During Q4 CY2018, Jio was again the market head controlling 38 per cent of the domestic market and then comes Samsung at 14 per cent, Lava at eight per cent, iTel at eight per cent and Nokia HMD at 6 per cent. Counterpoint in last month’s report said that the Jio has been the quickest to recognise and raise the platform to procure tens of millions of 2G feature phone users to its 4G network smartphones.Share this to your,
