Rajasthan Assembly introduced bills against honour killing and mob lynching Introduced

Ashok Gehlot Rajasthan Chief Minister on Tuesday said the objective of introducing bills making honour killing and mob lynching a cognizable, non-bailable offense is to punish such acts of brutality and criminal terrorizing seriously.

Ashok Gehlot in his Tweet said that “Bill introduced in Rajasthan Assembly today to make honour killing a cognizable, non-bailable and non-compoundable offense with life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh”

CM in his Tweet wrote that there is a delegation to designate a nodal officer to stop lynching in the state. Mob lynching result in injuries, and death of persons due to mobs. The objective of the bill is to pinch the crime in the primary stage itself and to restrict the spreading of hate or provocation to mob lynching by creating special offenses toward it.

Today, both the bills were presented by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal on account of the chief minister in the Rajasthan Assembly.
