Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be starting the BJP campaign for Maharashtra assembly elections at Nashik.
He will be on a one-day visit to Nashik, in north Maharashtra, where he will be addressing the concluding rally of `Mahajanadesh Yatra’ undertaken by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Fadnavis has toured the state ahead of the next month’s polls to highlight his government’s performance in the last five years.
BJP sources have said that it was expected that PM Modi would make some announcement related to the Metro Neo project for Nashik city.
Party leaders are also expecting some announcement for rural Maharashtra such as crop loan waiver.
After his campaign reached Nashik, Fadnavis has said that Maha Janadesh Yatra is going to be concluded and Maha Vijay Yatra will be beginning.
A BJP spokesperson said that PM Modi will be setting the party’s narrative for the assembly elections at the rally. Meanwhile, NCP and MNS activists have showed black flags to Fadnavis as his convoy entered the city.
