Omar Abdulla slams Modi’s government over its decision to scrap Section 370 and 35 A

Omar Abdullah, National Conference leader slammed the Modi’s government for its progress to dismiss Article 370 that grants exclusive prominent to Jammu and Kashmir, describing the movement ‘fraud and secrecy’ and said there will be serious consequences.

He said, “Government of India’s (GoI) unilateral and shocking decisions are a total betrayal of the trust that people of Jammu and Kashmir had reposed in India when they acceded to it in 1947…GoI has resorted to deceit and stealth to lay the ground for these disastrous decisions.”

He added that the decision was one-sided, unlawful and illegal and will be disputed by the National Conference.

Mehbooba Mufti of the PDP also hit the Centre for its move and termed it as ‘the darkest day in Indian democracy’.

With the decision, the Centre scrapped Article 370 by splitting the state into two Union Territories as Jammu and Kashmir with the legislature.
