“I congratulate PM Narendra Modi along with BJP for this tremendous victory. I had proclaimed in the course of the campaign ‘janta maalik hai’ and at this moment people of India have evidently assigned their decision. I would love to thank Congress candidates who fought hard. This really is an ideological fight. These are generally two different visions. Yet, we should accept defeat. People of India had decided that Narendra Modi will probably be the prime minister and I fully respect that. Congress President Rahul Gandhi concedes defeat from family bastion Ameth, desires BJP candidate Smriti Irani to “take care of Amethi”. Want to tell Congress workers don’t shake off confidence. We will fight harder, work harder and make our ideology win.
