Jhulan Goswami press conference LIVE Updates: Veteran seamer confirms retirement, remains coy on women’s IPL

On her long career:

Jhulan Goswami: Never thought about playing for such a long time. Great experience. U-19 together, great relations. We believe that we can change the face of women’s cricket and we can be in the top 3/4 among the women’s teams in the world. We always believe in our own ability. It was a great atmosphere in the dressing and we enjoyed a lot. Im very fortunate to have played this sport. Coming from Chakdah, I did not know anything about women’s cricket. I’m very thankful to my family.

Current India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has been full of praise for Jhulan Goswami in the build-up to her farewell game at Lord’s on Saturday.

“Her approach towards the game, nobody can beat that. I have learned a lot. Nobody can take her place. Even today, she continues to put in the same effort. You don’t see many bowlers do that today,” Kaur said recently.
