In the early hours of Tuesday eleven CRPF men and the state police were injured in an IED blast by Naxals in Jharkhand’s SeraikelaKharsawan district, officials said.
The explosion occurred by 5 am during a team of the CRPF’s special jungle warfare unit, CoBRA, and the state police were conducting an operation in the forests of Kuchai area in the district, they said.
The improvised explosive device (IED) is assumed to have been hidden under the dirt track. In the wounded personnel, eight of them were CoBRA and the rest belonging to the state police, have been carried to state capital Ranchi, according to the officials.
The joint team was being managed by the 209th battalion of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) of the Central Reserve Police Force extended in the state for anti-Naxal services, officials said.Share this to your,
