Honey Singh’s Makhna song faces controversy, multiple cases filed against him

Honey Singh, a Singer is now held in controversy by his song Makhna, which released six months ago, it has invited the rage of the Punjab Women Commission for its misogynistic lines and women’s objectification.

The subject has approached the police, Mohali police filed a case on the rapper and Bhushan Kumar, the song producer, at Mattaur police station. Punjab DGP had given the case to the Mohali SSP to review after the matter was proposed by the Women Commission, and also sought an action-taken record from the state police by July 12.

Honey Singh has been charged under section 294 and section 509 of the IPC, Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Harcharan Singh Bhullar said. He has also been accused under section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related section of the improper Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, Bhullar said.

The chairperson of the women board Manisha Gulati had addressed to the state home secretary, the Punjab director general of police and the inspector general of police, obliging suitable action on the singer.

She said that they have urged the police to file an FIR on the singer for practising indecent lyrics on women in his song Makhna.
