P Rajagopal, the founder of Saravana Bhavan who was sentenced to death in a murder case, died on Thursday in a private hospital.
Rajagopal was moved to a private hospital from the Stanley Medical College Hospital after a court judgement on Tuesday, died at 10 a.m on Thursday.
Before a local court to assist life sentence in a murder case, Rajagopal surrendered and had shifted to Vijaya Hospital, following the Madras High Court order on a petition registered by his son.
Rajagopal surrendered with another accused involved to attend life term following the Supreme Court denied his appeal asking more extended time due to ill-health.
Confirming the life sentence given to Rajagopal for killing an employee in October 2001, the Supreme Court had directed him to surrender on July 7 in the trial court.Share this to your,
