The building consisting of six floors collapse in Dharwad, Karnataka on Tuesday. Three persons killed and 22 injured. The multi-storey building collapsed in Dharwad on Tuesday afternoon and the rescue operations were initiated on Wednesday to safeguard the people caught below the ruins. The death toll has risen to three, 22 injured and around 40 people are feared to be trapped. Deputy Commissioner M. Deepa said ” So far 53 injured persons have been rescued and the death toll stands at three.
A 35-member NDRF team from Bengaluru joined the rescue operations on March 19th night. Another 73-member NDRF team from Ghaziabad arrived in Bengaluru on March 20 to step up the rescue operations.”Meantime, Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy tweeted”Shocked to learn about the collapse of an under-construction building in Dharwad. I have instructed the Chief Secretary to supervise rescue operations.
