Death toll in eastern states Bihar and Assam rose to 166 due to flooding

Wreak havoc in Bihar and Assam is facing flooding, with about 1.11 crore people staying in the two eastern states and the death toll rose to 166 on Sunday.

The deaths rose to 64 in Assam and 102 in Bihar. The casualties of five more are reported in the two states as of Saturday.

In Bihar, about 72.78 lakh people of the state have been affected by the disaster and in Assam 38.37 lakh people were hit in 18 districts.

As per the disaster administration department, says that the deaths in Bihar were recorded from Madhubani district, which estimated for 23 casualties.

By Sunday in Assam, the five deaths were reported from Morigaon district, Dhemaji, Goalpara and Kamrup districts, as per the ASDMA.

Flood water in five districts has been lowered the northeastern state and the replaced people turned back to their residences to discover most of their residences swept off by the torrential rains.
