Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi will be meeting chief ministers from the party and will discuss ways to make their states a role model in good governance.
She will be meeting the chief ministers of Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry at her residence.
The Congress chief has aimed to provide effective and good governance to the people in Congress-ruled states and will also help resolve their problems.
She will also be holding deliberations with party chief ministers on how to strengthen the Congress in these states adding that a detailed plan on how to implement the party manifesto will be discussed.
In a meeting, Gandhi said that they have a special responsibility in the states where they are in power — Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry.
She added that these states must stand out as examples of sensitive and responsive governance, accountable and transparent administration.
She added that Congress must fulfill its manifesto commitments or else the party will lose people’s support with obvious consequences.
The Congress is keen on changing its fortunes in more states after receiving the worst ever drubbing in the last general elections.
Gandhi has taken up the challenge to undertake this uphill task in bringing the party back to power.Share this to your,
