China’s chemical explosion records 44 deaths and 90 injured

An explosion at a chemical plant in eastern China records 44 deaths and 90 people seriously injured declares the local government. Blast at the Tianjiayi Chemical plant on Thursday in Yancheng, with approximately 1,000 area natives moved to safety on Friday as a precaution. Windowpanes in buildings were blown out for about 6 kilometres by the force of the blast.

The Yancheng city government said on its official blog that 3,500 medical workers at 16 hospitals had been mobilized to treat the injured. A chemical explosion in a warehouse in the city of Tianjin killed 173 people in 2015.
