CBI held searches at 22 places in West Bengal

The CBI conducted searches at 22 places in West Bengal of directors and promoters of New Land Agro Industries premises, one of the involved companies in a ponzi scam case, officials said on Monday.

The company was accused and booked in May 2017 on the regulations of the Supreme Court.

The agency was directed by the apex court to examine all the companies who were involved in the ponzi scam being investigated by a Special Investigation Team of West Bengal.

It was claimed in the accusation that over 250 agents, who had invested about ₹ 1 crore each, were cheated by the promoters and directors of the agency by ensuring them profitable return.
