Asia Cup points table: Pakistan ensure place in final with Sri Lanka; knock India out of the tournament

Dubai: After another nail-biting thriller Pakistan defeated Afghanistan with Naseem Shah hitting two big sixes in the first two balls of the last over.

The two out-of-the-park hits also ensured India’s ouster from the Asia Cup as Pakistan and Sri Lanka have both won two games each in the Super Four stage.

Sri Lanka defeated India in a thrilling contest that went down till the last over after beating Afghanistan in a similar fashion.

Earlier, in another last-over thriller, Pakistan got the better of rivals India, with Iftikhar Ahmed scoring the winning runs to collect their first two points of the Super Four stage.

The next two matches between India and Afghanistan, and between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will not have any bearing on the points table.
