Arun Jaitley was admitted at AIIMS, authority says he is stable for now

Arun Jaitley, Former finance minister on Friday was taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) following complaining uneasiness.

AIIMS in its statement said, “Arun Jaitley is now sustaining treatment in the ICU under the supervision of multidisciplinary doctors. At present, he is haemodynamically firm.”

As per the officials, Jaitley was admitted at AIIMS at 10 am to the Cardio-Neuro-Centre of the hospital. An official, AIIMS announced that a unit of senior doctors, and a cardiac, oncologist and a nephrologist, is taking charge of him.

PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of Health Dr Harsh Vardhan went to the hospital to enquire about his health.

He has been the prominent leader in Modi’s Cabinet while his first occupation and usually served as the chief trouble-shooter for the government.

Jaitley did not stand for the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, likely because of his health issues.

He had experienced the renal transplant in May last year with Piyush Goyal stretching in for him at the time and even granting the interim Budget in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls.

Jaitley, who had quit serving office since April 2018, was back in the finance ministry on August 23, 2018.

This year, in the beginning, Jaitley had moved to the US for a noted unique cancer Sarcoma, a soft tissue cancer in his left leg owing to which he couldn’t act the interim Budget in February.

Earlier, in May repeatedly, Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS for a day. Though, the reason was not revealed.
