“Some former cricketers and pundits have advised a break for Kohli. Some want him to sort things out in the nets. Some prefer him to continue, for no practice is better than match practice. However, none of them loses anything substantial if Kohli’s poor form continues – barring the man himself, and his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore”
Abhishek Mukherjee asks the questions many have had on their mind, but few have dared to ask so far: Is it time for RCB to bench Kohli?

Shreyas Iyer vs wrist-spin
Shreyas Iyer hasn’t been too comfortable facing wrist spin in IPL 2022 and his dismissal off Murugan Ashwin’s bowling in Kolkata Knight Riders’ last game, against Mumbai Indians, was the sixth time he was dismissed by a wrist spinner, with the Kolkata skipper collecting just 36 runs against them and the strike rate hovering around the 100 mark.

“Shreyas has one weakness though. He doesn’t play leg spinners well and tends to get deceived by the turn and flight from the leggies”
Former India batter Mohammad Kaif analyses the Kolkata Knight Riders captain’s technique and picks out a chink in his armour. Kaif, however, did shower praise on Iyer for his leadership, calling him a “brilliant captain” and one who can guide the two-time champions in the right direction.

Seventh place SRH and eighth place KKR have both collected 10 points so far and to qualify they will not only need to win their remaining matches but will need help from other teams as well.
SRH though have three games left as compared to KKR’s two and have a better chance of qualifying to the knockouts but they are currently on a four-game losing streak. Fighting to stay alive in the playoffs race, KKR come into the match after a massive 52-runs win over Mumbai Indians.

Preview: The form of Kane Williamson will be the focus when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday. While KKR come into this match after thrashing Mumbai Indians in their last match, qualifying for the playoffs looks very unlikely.

However, SRH have lost a lot of momentum as they come into this game on the back of four consecutive defeats and a lot of their problems hinge around the failure of the batting order.
