Coach Powar urges seniors to take responsibility
In an interaction with reporters on the eve of India’s meeting with West Indies, head coach Ramesh Powar expressed surprise over the slow approach shown by the batters against New Zealand on Thursday, and said that seniors such as captain Mithali Raj, pace spearhead Jhulan Goswami had a key role to play in reviving the team’s sagging fortunes by producing strong performances that would have a trickle-down effect on the rest of the team’s morale.
Team India must rectify it’s errors, mainly in the batting and fielding deparment, if they are to keep ther World Cup campaign on track after the eye-opening 62-run loss at the hands of hosts New Zealand. West Indies, on the other hand, have punched above their weights so far in the tournament with two wins in as many games against heavyweights New Zealand and England, and will be hoping to make it three in three on Saturday.
