A group of lawmakers has introduced bipartisan legislation to provide a pathway to citizenship for documented dreamers, a move if successful in becoming a law will benefit over 200,000 people, largely comprising Indians who came to the US with their parents as young kids. America’s Children Act will provide a pathway to citizenship for the Documented Dreamers’, children of long-term visa holders who have been waiting for years, and often decades for a Green Card. These Documented Dreamers’ face deportation if they age out of dependent status at 21 without a Green Card or another immigration status.
