Iran has captured 17 operatives working for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and few have been condemned to death.
The Intelligence Ministry as stating it had occurred a CIA following loop and arrested 17 suspects. A ministry official said few of those caught had been condemned to death.
The statement appears following three months of a spiralling conflict with the West that started when new more established U.S. penalties took force at the start of May. Last week Iran arrested a British tanker at Strait of Hormuz following Britain’s Royal Marines captured an Iranian tanker off the shore of Gibraltar on July 4.
“The identified spies were employed insensitive and vital private sector centres in the economic, nuclear, infrastructural, military and cyber areas… where they collected classified information,” said a ministry.
It was not instantly clear if the detentions were connected to the case in which Iran stated in June it had opened a large cyber espionage system it claimed was operated by the CIA, and that many U.S. observers had been detained in various countries as a consequence of this activity.Share this to your,
